For the past ten days I have mostly been brooding watching the snow, making snowmen and shooting evil stares to our walls’ colors. Days are passing by and I wonder whether spring will come and pass before I apply any of the changes I plan to get going.
It wasn’t all daydreaming though. I cleaned – half – the basement. Which is major! Imagine piles of sawdust, cement and a gazillion screws. Imagine tools all around, on tables, on the floor and hang from screws exactly where I pass under so I have to duck every time. Dream (the nightmare kind) of piles of accumulated dirt. Picture numerous pieces of wood and floorboards – leftovers from my husband’s projects. On the floor, on the tables, covering the area I have assigned for my crafts. Oh, and ALL my craft supplies covered in heavy dust.
I saw, I frowned, I cleaned. And I have a tidy place to create now.
In other news:
– Potty training The Cute is not nearly as successful. In fact, it has been a massive failure so far. The Cute goes straight to her potty, after she wets the floor. Every. Single. Time. She is lucky she is so cute, orelse.
– Reading goes much better, probably because I don’t have to do a thing except to oblige her when she brings me books to read (all the time). She is into pronouncing the alphabet letters now and she finds great fun into discovering letters she knows in each page.
Easter is approaching and this year we plan on taking The Cute on her first ever egg-hunt. A western Mass town is throwing their annual EGGstravaganza at a beautiful local park. We bought a basket and several plastic eggs. Her daddy is assigned with the task to prep The Cute on egg-hunting because, I do not plan on throwing my precious daughter unprepared among other
blood egg-thirsty tots, who are already experienced in the task of helping the Easter Bunny. No, sir. We shall enter the battlefield ready to get at least one egg in our basket (and keep it there – The Cute prefers to hide the eggs instead of finding them). Hopefully, it will all work out peacefully, without any tantrums.
Meanwhile, I took a few photos of The Cute’s nursery, now toddler room. Here is a sneak peak:
I will share our nursery soon. It is a tribute to pink, a color I was adamant on avoiding. This room was to be a soft cream. Massive fail on picking the color and it’s not that I didn’t try. I’ll whine more about that in the next post.
Update: well that didn’t take long. You are invited to tour our nursery!
