Travelling to Greece with a toddler by TwoPlusCute

It’s here, it’s here! The Cute’s passport. Finally we can travel! We waited for many weeks and I really didn’t want to miss the whole summer.

I had packed our suitcases within hours of receiving the passport. I scheduled this post and we will be flying towards Greece when it goes online. I am happy, happy, happy!

Made my lists of “must haves” that include all the advice I have gotten here and found online, about travelling with a toddler. I have books (new and old), a cellphone to be filled with toddler games, a new doll, sticker books and I will make a couple sock puppets. Plus, many snacks placed in ziplocs.

Oh, oh, and The Cute’s favorite: an empty notepad and a pen – so she scribbles on every page. Hours of fun right there! I don’t know why she does that but seems she doesn’t like unwritten pages.

This trip will be a huge milestone for our little daughter: it will be the first time she meets her Greek family up close. Activities have already been planned, most being about swimming, sunbathing, building sand castles and splashing around. And visiting bookstores so I stockpile on Greek books for her.

Sadly she is too young to visit the modern observatory. However, we can visit the old National Observatory of Athens, founded in 1842, sitting atop the – very romantically named – “Hill of the Nymphs“, that is smack dub across the Parthenon!

This is the “old” observatory, (there is an ancient one on a hill across and several modern ones):

Is she going to remember all this? No, not at all. But I will recount the stories for years, helped by photographs and the experience will enrich her from the first day, in ways that will last for the rest of her life.

On a different note, I worry a bit about blogging. You know, bloggers are supposed to be posting consistently – at least I have read so. I hope I get a net connection at my mom’s home quickly – hopefully way faster than I got The Cute’s passport. Juuust in case, I have scheduled a few posts using a free WordPress plug-in. If you are using wordpress and are looking for a way to easily schedule your posts, the plug-in I am using is the “WordPress Editorial Calendar.

I hope you don’t forget about me

and I promise

I will come visit you all in the first chance!

It’s great Ntina. Connection was super fast but then I got side tracked.
My friends are making jokes that I will keep finding excuses to delay going back, hehe. 😀
